The Rosary of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Rosary Immaculate Heart of Mary Fra Angelico

Back in 1950, a great Dominican theologian, Bonifacio Llameras O.P., wrote a lengthy article for the Thomist called Fatima: The Rosary and the Heart of Mary. Fr. Bonifacio pointed out a greatly overlooked fact in the Fatima message. Fr. Bonifacio showed that Our Lady of Fatima joined two very powerful devotions together, the Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In fact, when Our Lady asked for the First Saturdays, she asked that the Rosary be said in reparation to her Immaculate Heart. This especially consoles the Heart of Mary because these very mysteries of the Rosary were referred to in the words: "Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart" (Lk. 2:19), and one could say that the mysteries came forth from her Heart as she shared them with the disciples after Pentecost. This booklet provides us with a practical way to practice these two devotions together as we find the Heart of Mary and the Heart of Jesus at the heart of each mystery.

Also, for the first time, this booklet contains 20 images from Blessed Fra Angelico. Fra Angelico was a Dominican priest who painted in the latter half of the 15th century. This was about the time another Dominican was giving us the 15 mysteries in the form that came to be approved by the Church. Yet, Fra Angelico was also painting what would one day become the 5 Luminous mysteries added by St. John Paul II. We know of no other well-known painter who has painted all 20 mysteries and well in advance of their existence in the Rosary. These inspired paintings can then accompany our journey along with meditations that include Scripture interfacing with the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Enjoy then a double-powered Rosary, truly a two edged sword of the word of God. Here then is a powerful weapon to beat back the forces of evil in the world today.
